The first time I worked with a client was through a friend. The client wanted a design for a coffee bag that he was planning to release and would also include shirts and other products. I created the design and the client felt great about it, but when we talked about payment he only wanted to pay me with a $20 bag of coffee. This brought an end to this first experience. I have heard stories about people being offered little to nothing because a person is a student, but I did not think it was going to be like this. I will definitely make sure I set the price in the beginning so we are both on the same page of what to expect.
